Senior Design Studio:During this course, the student will learn how to use AutoCAD, a graphical software system that is essential for engineers to make drawings and diagrams of their designs. The student will also be introduced to SoftDesk-Civil, a software program similar to AutoCAD, but designed specifically for civil engineering problems. The students will use measurements taken during their junior year in Fort Greene Park, and apply them to design problems using the AutoCAD and SoftDesk-Civil software programs. In addition, writing skills are emphasized by each student having to hand in a well written research paper. A professional portfolio of junior and senior work is kept by each student to be used on college/employment interviews. During the fall and spring terms all students will be engaged in a senior design project. The senior design project focuses on designing something of benefit for the Brooklyn Tech and Fort Greene communities.
